The necessary partShipping, returns and privacy

Prints are made to order and usually leave within about a week. Anything already in the studio ships within a few days.

Original paintings are packed individually and, above a certain size, crated and sent by freight. Shipping on an original is arranged with you directly after the order - it is not a flat rate and it is not included in the price unless stated.

Tracking is emailed as soon as a parcel is handed over.

Prints and merchandise can be returned within 30 days of arrival, in the condition they arrived in, for a refund of the item price. Return postage is yours unless the item arrived damaged or wrong.

Original paintings are sold as seen and are not returnable once delivered, except where they arrive damaged. Ask for more photographs before buying - that request is always welcome.

Commissioned work is not returnable, because it was made for you. The deposit covers work already done if you withdraw partway.

Photograph the packaging and the piece before doing anything else, and get in touch within 7 days. Everything ships insured and it gets sorted out.

Bids are binding. The highest bid above the reserve at close wins, and payment is due within 5 days.

Any bid placed in the final minutes extends the close by the same interval, repeatedly, until a bid goes unanswered. That is deliberate: the piece should go to whoever actually values it most, not to whoever has the fastest connection.

A reserve, where one is set, is not published. The listing only shows whether it has been met.

Putting your name down for a free event is exactly that - a name on a list. There is nothing to print and nothing to pay. If you cannot make it, reply to the confirmation email so the place can go to somebody else.

Where an event is full, replies go on a waitlist rather than being turned away, and you are emailed if a place opens up.

Tickets to a paid event are bought through the same checkout as everything else. If you can no longer come, get in touch - refunds are handled personally rather than by a rule, and the sooner you say, the easier it is.

Some events are run by the venue rather than here. Where that is the case the page says so and sends you to their site to book - your details then sit with them, under their terms, not this one.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Card details are entered on Stripe systems and are never seen by, sent to, or stored on this site.

Orders: what you bought, the total, your email and delivery address, so the order can be fulfilled and the books kept.

Bids: the amount, the name you chose to display, and your email so you can be told the outcome. Your email is never shown publicly - bidders appear as a first name and last initial.

Enquiries: whatever you put in the commissions form, or in the form for enquiring about a piece directly.

Event replies: your name, email, how many of you are coming, and anything you added. Kept so there is a list at the door, and so you can be told if something changes.

Art Wave applications: everything on that form, including your phone number and links to your work, so it can be read and answered. The form asks permission before any of it is used to contact you, and it is used for nothing else.

A cookie, if you confirm your age to see the adult work: the date you confirmed it and nothing else, so you are not asked again for 90 days. No account, no name, and nothing that identifies you.

Your cart lives in your own browser, not on the server, and is not sent anywhere until you check out.

Nothing is sold or passed on beyond the services needed to run the shop - payment, delivery and email.

Ask at any time for a copy of what is held about you, or for it to be deleted, and it will be done.
